This past week, Mother Jones, a national publication focused on investigative journalism, published a story about the funding crisis that victim service organizations across the nation— including Sojourner House— are experiencing as a result of massive cuts to the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).
The journalist attached to the piece, Julianne McShane, interviewed four Sojourner House staff members, all of whom work for VOCA funded programs, and even sat down with a former client of ours, Paris Alexander, to hear about the impact our work has had on their life.
