For fifty years, Sojourner House has served as a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. To reflect on that incredible milestone— and the urgent work still ahead of us— our President and CEO, Vanessa Volz, wrote a guest column for the Rhode Island Current.
For over 45 years, Sojourner House has served thousands of victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
Thanks to our supporters, we are able to offer wraparound services such as support groups, emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, sexual health advocacy, and emotional support.
We believe that everyone deserves a safe, healthy home, and proudly house all genders.
The mission of Sojourner House is to promote healthy relationships by providing culturally sensitive support, advocacy, housing, and education for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking; and to effect systems change.
