Did you know that the leading cause of death for pregnant women in the United States is homicide? It’s not preeclampsia, high blood pressure, infection, or other complications related to delivery. No, the most common reason pregnant women in the United States die is because they are murdered– most often by an intimate partner and most often with a firearm. This should not be normal.
