Thank you for joining us at Celestial Visions, the 13th Annual
Sojourner House Masquerade Ball!
On Friday, November 17th, Sojourner House hosted our 13th Annual Masquerade Ball at the Graduate Providence, raising over $155,000 to support and expand our victim advocacy efforts. The theme of the fundraiser was Celestial Visions; inspired by astrology, the moon, the stars, and the visions we have for a brighter future, free from violence. Nearly 400 New Englanders attended the galactic gathering and enjoyed an energetic evening of live music, dancing, stardust, and fortune telling.
Dripping in cosmic elegance, this year’s festivities, hosted by Joe Wilson Jr. from Trinity Repertory Company, included a silent auction, delectable hors d’oeuvres, and special performances from Ballet RI, Toys 2 Men, Extraordinary Rendition Band (ERB), MarlinOnTheKeys, DJ Justin Case, and Kismet Improv!
During the ball, Sojourner House sponsored a celestial-themed cake competition, challenging six of southern New England’s most creative pastry professionals to create the top voted confectionary masterpiece. Participating groups included: Carina e Dolce, Specialty Cakes & Cookies, Flower Bakery, Ninth Cake, Awesome Sweets, Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery, and the JWU Pastry Arts Club. To evaluate the cakes and award a winner, Sojourner House enlisted the help of six celebrity judges: Mario Hilario from NBC 10, Chef Frank Terranova from Cooking with Class, Jamie Coelho from Rhode Island Monthly, Laura Afonso from Buns and Bites, Jariah Gray from Two Hungry B*tches, and Brittanny Taylor from The BT Lounge podcast.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a wonderful and impactful evening!
