Why do you support Sojourner House?
I support Sojourner House because I fully believe in their mission. Every person is entitled to be safe and free from domestic and sexual violence. Sojourner House provides invaluable services to the community, which are of even more importance during the pandemic.
How do you stay connected to your work when things get busy or hard?
This might sound counterintuitive, but I disconnect to stay connected when work gets hectic. I find that it is important to me to take time to step away from work to give myself a mental break. Whether that break be a five or ten minute walk, a yoga class, or a day off work, I am able to return to work re-energized and re-engaged.
What’s the best advice you’ve learned in recent years?
The best advice I have learned is to stay present and enjoy the journey! Don’t be so focused on the end goal that you lose the importance of the path there. Also to get outside of your comfort zone! Do things that exhilarate you and push you to grow.
What is your favorite Rhode Island spot?
Newport! I love the beach, old mansions, shops/restaurants, and charm of Newport.
What are you looking forward to most in 2022?
Being able to travel! I love to learn by visiting new places and experiencing different cultures.
